Photo365 – Day 334 – in every dream home a heartache

30. 11. 2011 at 18:39

I walk passed a large fenced off area most days and have been meaning to photograph this sign recently.
The fence went up when a huge Victorian property disappeared a few years ago. The large bricked building was demolished to make way for luxury homes. They never materialised and now all the fancy signs are looking a little less than luxurious…sign of the times.

I don’t think the company even exists any more…no doubt the land is being sat on until the economy improves, but the wooden fenced area is starting to look shabby. I imagine there are sites like this all over the country.

The title is a Roxy Music song – which is actually about a rubber doll, but i thought it suited this shot (with a different meaning)

Photo365 – Day 333 – Eggs away

29. 11. 2011 at 19:08

I have one egg left in the carton. It got left and is well past the sell by date. I was about to throw it when I saw this photo. It reminds me of a man in one of those sporty car seats, so the title kind of has two meanings.
Another iPhone shot.

Today I also used a resampling to increase the size of an iPhone photo to 40in square and the result was very good. Compact cameras need to brace up for a rough ride ahead.

Photo365 – Day 332 – scrapyard

28. 11. 2011 at 18:45

I was trying to get that view you see when you pass a car scrap yard where they stack the broken cars upright.

Photo365 – Day 331 – Jelly bears

27. 11. 2011 at 22:32

Three jelly bear sweets placed on my iPad on an ePHOTOzine page with white space, and photographed with the iPhone and new Hipstamatic lens/film combination.

Photo365 – Day 330 – face at bowling

26. 11. 2011 at 15:31

I haven’t been bowling for ages, and it showed. Possibly my lowest score ever at just 102!

I thought this bowling ball look a bit like a face, so placed it on the rack at an angle to show of its best side.

Hipstamatic (trying out new lens and film I’ve downloads) on iPhone

Photo365 – Day 329 – a shaft of light

25. 11. 2011 at 10:41

I woke up this morning to see sunlight finding its way though a window, and then out through a door onto another door. One of the good things about winter is that the sun is low and the bright sunlight always slips through the cracks. A simple shot on the iPhone / Hipstamatic showing where it landed.

The pattern from the reflection of the door handle hasn’t picked up which is a shame as that added extra sparkle

As I went to rephotograph it the sun had changed position and the moment was gone

Photo365 – Day 328 – the diver

24. 11. 2011 at 18:04

I have a 2x tele lens to review and this was the first photo I took with it to illustrate the difference between this lens and the perspective of the same shot using just the iPhone.
It’s a small glass diver ornament with a US navy diver helmet as its background.

Photo365 – Day 327 – Worksop Cinema Phase 7

23. 11. 2011 at 09:11

Those who’ve been following my blog will be aware that I’ve been documenting the building of Worksop’s new cinema. I went a few weeks ago and little change had taken place since phase 6 so I didn’t post my photo. Then I had a week away.

So this morning before work, now the nights are drawing in, I visited the scene to find fencing has been put up preventing me from standing in the same spot! Doh…I couldn’t have predicted that. Now I cannot complete my timelapse. Here’s a view from the other side of the pillar I used as a reference point.

I need to choose a new spot to finish the series. So I moved across the road and will do a front view, which actually looks better but it’s a busy road so there’s usually cars parked or passing.

Photo365 – Day 326 – solar lights

22. 11. 2011 at 17:58

A low angle shot of some ground garden solar lights taken with the iphone and fisheye lens attached.
